The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Wednesday awarded 1,353 apartments to people under a housing program through an online raffle, officials said.
These apartments of different categories are located in Dwarka, Jasola, Manglapuri, Vasant Kunj and Rohini.
“A total of 1,353 apartments have been awarded today by lottery. An apartment in Vasant Kunj in the self-financing segment has not been awarded due to legal issues,” said a senior official.
A total of 22,752 applications were received for 253 High Income Groups (HIG), 757 Middle Income Group (MIG), 52 Low Income Group (LIG) and 291 Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) or Janta Apartments, said the DDA.
The allocation of apartments by drawing lots was made to 1,353 candidates, according to their preference, the choice of localities. A waiting list of 338 candidates has also been established. Those applicants on the waiting list would be allocated the apartments if apartments are canceled or returned by major beneficiaries, the official said.
The 1353 apartments allocated to various categories of applicants – 17 (ex-military), 930 (general), 225 (listed castes), 102 (listed tribes), 69 (disabled people) and 10 (war widows).
âThe registration money for all unsuccessful applicants, including applicants on the waiting list, will be refunded within 15 days. requested by DDA before the draw, “the urban body said in a statement.
The drawing of lots was carried out on the basis of a system of random number generation and in the presence of judges and senior officers of the DDA at its Vikas Sadan headquarters.

The maximum number of 757 apartments has been proposed in the MIG category.
The program was completely online, carried out using DDA’s newly developed AWAAS software, from processing the application to owning apartments.
In the HIG, LIG ââand EWS / janta categories, the number of apartments on offer was 254, 52 and 291 respectively, according to information shared in the program brochure. However, on Wednesday, only 253 HIG category apartments were allocated.
The latest DDA housing program was launched in March 2019, offering nearly 18,000 apartments divided into four categories: 488 (HIG), 1,555 (MIG), 8,383 (LIG) and 7,496 (EWS).
