Since signing up for the lottery in March, Laura has been using the daily email reminder to check if she’s won.
She said: “I was completely shocked, I almost clicked on it and didn’t realize it.” It means so much, as I live alone, so having a bit of a cushion to help me through the months ahead is amazing. “
When asked what she intended to do with her winnings, Laura replied: “Is it boring to say ‘heat’? But also a good meal with wine.
Entry to the Pick My Postcode lottery is free, as the draws are funded entirely by advertising revenue.
To participate, members over the age of 18 register their email and postal code online. A postcode is randomly selected at midday each day for the main £200 jackpot, and members have until midday the following day to check online and claim their prize.
If it is not claimed, the money is carried over to the next day. In addition to the main draw, members can participate in other daily bonus draws.
Members receive a daily reminder to check the site to see if their postcode has won in any of the nine draws. A total of nearly £20,000 has been paid out to residents of Bucks since 2017.
Laura added: “I was always a bit skeptical about winning anything, but even just building my bonus by checking and responding was enough and eventually paid off.”
