We are ready to take this game to the next level and need an enthusiast Director of Retail Initiatives provide leadership and strategic direction in the strategic planning, development, implementation and performance management of retail initiatives. This role leads a team responsible for effectively planning and executing retail expansion opportunities to increase revenue and profitability by supporting the achievement of OLG’s strategic priority related to retail expansion. the lottery.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Senior Director of Retail Sales and Account Management, you will be empowered to:
Provide strategic direction in the development, implementation, management and optimization of short and long term retail strategies to ensure increased revenue and profitability for the organization
Lead the Retail Initiatives team in their day-to-day operations and develop their skills and abilities through continuous performance evaluation, mentoring and coaching to build a strong and engaged team
Provide leadership in the development of business cases, strategy documents, briefing papers and issue notes for various internal and external audiences
Develop an annual retail operational plan in collaboration with senior management and other partner leaders to achieve the organization’s long-term strategic goals
Oversee the development, approval, prioritization and execution of the retail initiatives roadmap; lead communications with senior management and various external stakeholders, including retailers and associations
Lead, prioritize, optimize and innovate existing and new retail initiatives, collaborating with department and division leaders and cross-functional partners as needed
Enable the success of lottery retail initiatives by removing barriers (internal and external) that may exist with respect to retailers, technology, regulations, etc.
Develop and monitor critical metrics and performance statistics in line with business unit strategic direction and develop corrective actions to close gaps and improve performance
Lead the sourcing, selection and negotiation of suppliers within the portfolio of retail initiatives; oversee the management, execution and optimization of contractual agreements
Be the primary accountable for key stakeholders including Legal, Technology, Customer Service, Retailers, Associations and AGCO etc.
Oversee financial management and capital requirements associated with all retail initiatives
Develop and share expert knowledge and recommendations on technology, retail channels and sales solutions, working with cross-functional enterprise teams on behalf of retail sales; support problem solving as they arise
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Professional experience: 7-10 years of experience delivering solutions or similar experience; minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience
Education: University degree in business, information technology or equivalent
Critical Skills: commercial, financial and strategic competence; analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication, vendor management and relationship building skills
Negotiation and Influencing: ability to negotiate and influence effectively while being open to perspectives and maintaining strong relationships
Strategic thinker: strong strategic and critical mind with the ability to immerse themselves in unique challenges and find creative solutions
