We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Sustainability and Social Impact Manager to partner with the Vice President of Community, Sustainability and Social Responsibility in the development, delivery, maintenance and improvement of environmental, social and governance strategies (ESG programs and initiatives) consistent with GameON and OLG’s ESG strategy.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the VP Community, Sustainability & Social Responsibility, you will be empowered to:

Support the Vice President of Community, Sustainability and Social Responsibility and other internal stakeholders in the development and implementation of OLG’s updated ESG strategy

Support the Vice President in developing strategies and implementation plans to tell OLG’s ESG story to external, internal and customer audiences through a range of communications and marketing tactics

Collaborate in the development of branding, sponsorship and content initiatives that align with OLG’s ESG goals to demonstrate how we are helping to build a better Ontario with clear and measurable KPIs

Conduct sustainability assessments and partner with organizational leadership as needed to develop actionable, research-based strategies, targets and outcomes to advance the company’s ESG objectives

Educate senior management and the entire organization on key ESG issues to support the adoption of ESG practices

Lead and coordinate OLG’s Corporate ESG Advisory Group comprised of representatives from all divisions

Collaborate with the VP to develop ESG strategy objectives and measurable outcomes and track progress against defined KPIs

Support the VP in assessing OLG’s baseline performance against ESG best practices to prioritize ESG investments (through three-year planning)

Support the Vice President in the development and delivery of the annual ESG report for the President & CEO and other executive audiences

Research trends and best practices in CSR, sustainability and ESG and provide analysis, advice and recommendations for the improvement and continuous improvement of CSR and ESG programs

Contribute to the development of ESG-related policies and support communication and adoption across the company

Act as an advocate within OLG for goal-based initiatives and proactively integrate corporate responsibility messages and opportunities into various aspects of OLG’s communications plans and talent management programs

Oversee and coordinate the work of third-party agencies/consultants (social impact firm, etc.) to ensure timely deliverables

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Professional experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in social responsibility, sustainable development, development of ESG programs and leadership. Experience in managing complex internal and external relationships. Experience communicating complex political issues to senior management. Experience with ESG strategy, rating/ranking methodologies and data management approaches for ESG metrics. Experience in developing and communicating cause-related partnerships, grassroots community initiatives.

Education: University degree in business management, public relations, environmental or social sciences, or experiential equivalent. Master an asset.

Primary knowledge around: Evolving social impact sector, including research and trends. Understanding of ESG best practices. Understanding of gaming industry and operations an asset. Experience in a government department or agency an asset. Certificate in sustainable development, corporate social responsibility or communications an asset.

  • Exceptional presentation skills to internal, external and senior management audiences
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information
  • Exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Political acumen is an asset
  • Strong project and budget management skills
  • Knowledge of digital and social communication best practices
  • Knowledge of emerging CSR and ESG marketing trends, targets and data-driven metrics to optimize the reach and impact of communication programs
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams of peers and senior managers
  • Collaborative work style based on relationship building and commitment to obtaining diverse perspectives
