Charities are welcome to apply for the Argyll Community Lottery for a chance to raise unrestricted funds.

Argyll Community Lottery was established in 2021 by Argyll and Bute Third Sector Interface.

Created to support community projects in the area, the lottery operates on the principle of fundraising within the community for the community, with 60% of the ticket price going to good causes.

Players who sign up and support the causes have the chance to win weekly cash prizes of up to £25,000 and anyone who signs up before Saturday August 27 could also win a £1,000 Currys voucher.

Tickets cost £1 in the weekly draw and participants can choose exactly which good cause they want their money to go to.

Joining the lottery as a good cause, a spokesperson for 15th Argyll Scout Group (1st Muileach) said: ‘Our Scout Group has operated for many years with Guiding and other local groups. The Tobermory Scout Hall which we own and share with Guiding on Mull has seen extensive use but unfortunately is at the end of its life.

“We have been fundraising for a new hall for many years with great community support. Fundraising from the Argyll Community Lottery will go a long way towards the final part of our project so that we can have a wonderful new hall available to all.

Since launching in 2021, the Argyll Community Lottery has raised thousands of pounds for small charities and given away £14,650 in cash prizes.
